titleOfInvention Backup methods and systems for spa system thermal management
abstract The spa systems can be used daily and in colder weather conditions, providing a pleasant experience for users thanks to the cold ambient outside temperature and the spa's heated water. However, failures of the water circulation pump and / or the spa system heater, whether mechanical, electrical or due to global power outages, allow the water in the SPA system and its piping to freeze easily if ambient conditions are cold enough leading to cracks in the spa system or pipes and, as a result, leaks when water thaws requiring expensive repair or replacement of components or entire systems. Accordingly, the invention relates to a freeze protection system that uses a back-up thermal management system discretely or in combination with other back-up systems. These freeze protection systems provide a backup solution for mechanical failures, power outages, etc. occur by providing a thermal input to the spa system via alternative thermal paths and providing alarms.
