The present invention relates to W-modified cytidine nucleotides of formula (I). The invention also provides methods for the chemical synthesis of modifiée-modified cytidine nucleoside triphosphates and their applications as well as uses of cytidine analogs for the synthesis of modified nucleic acids. The nucleic acid molecule comprises DNA, RNA or a combination of DNA / RNA. One of the many applications of modified cytidine nucleotides of the invention is enzymatic selection, when an enzyme of interest carries an activity of an esterase, amidase, oxidoreductase, lyase, ligase or other enzymatic activity, formula (I) in which substituents are as defined in the claims. |
