The present disclosure relates to a composition containing an ultrastable enzyme, methods for use in the preparation of a biological sample for mass spectrometric analysis, and kits containing it. The composition comprises an ultrastable enzyme isolated from a hyperthermophilic and / or acidophilic organism and optionally an acid and an additive. The composition may be used at temperatures in the range of about 50 to 110 ° C, preferably at temperatures of about 70 to 100 ° C. In addition, the composition can be used at pH values of 0.5 to 7, preferably at pH values of 2 to 5. |
