abstract | A line light source 10 is used as an illumination light source illuminating paper sheet. A reference reflector plate 17 (reflecting member) is disposed on an optical path from the line light source 10 to a lens array, is provided in a light receiving region R of a light receiver, outside a reading region W for reading an image of the paper sheet in a main scanning direction y. A light passing region 18 that allows light from the line light source 10 to pass through and leads the light to an approximate focal point 21 of the lens array on a transport path is formed on at least on one side with respect to the reference reflector plate 17 in the sub-scanning directions y. |
