abstract |
A process for preparing a shell metal catalyst or a precursor of a shell metal catalyst, a process that includes the steps of (1) applying a paste including a diluent, a catalytically active metal selected from the cobalt and ruthenium group or its precursor compound, and optionally a refractory oxide, hereinafter referred to as "first refractory oxide", of an element having an atomic number of at least 20 or a precursor of the first refractory oxide, on the particle surface of a central support, forming a wet coating, and (2) remove at least a portion of the diluent from the wet coating, where the paste includes at least 5% by weight of the catalytically active metal or its precursor compound, calculated on the weight of the metal in relation to the weight of residue of calcination that can be formed from the paste by drying the pasta and calcining. |
