An uncoupled fermentation process to produce in a fermentation medium a target fermentation product selected from the group consisting of riboflavin, pantothenic acid, thiamine, folic acid and pyroxidine, said process comprising: (a) providing a recombinant microorganism produced which excessively produces an objective fermentation product and comprises a mutation that causes auxotrophy for biotin, where auxotrophy within the microorganism does not compromise the ability of the microorganism to produce the target fermentation product, and (b) supplement the medium with an amount unlimited substrates required for the production of the target fermentation product, and with a limited amount of biotin that complements auxotrophy. |
