A papermaking fabric, which can be sewn on the machine, comprising: a base structure (50) that can be sewn on the machine, said structure being a flat group (30) of a plurality of turns of a multi-component thread (16) wound in a helix, without overlapping, having a plurality of individual strands of yarn, said flattened grouping (30) having two layers, two faces, a length, a width and two edges (32) in the width direction, said multi-component thread (16) in each of said plurality of turns having a substantially longitudinal orientation in each of said two layers and forming a plurality of sewing loops (36) to along each of said two edges (32) in the width direction, said multicomponent thread (16) joining in each of said plurality of turns, in juxtaposition, to those adjacent to them in said two layers by means of a material fusi thermoplastic ble; and at least one layer of short fiber material treated with needles on one of said two faces of said base structure (50) and through said two layers. |
