abstract Method for increasing the production of plant seeds under normal growth conditions, relative to wild type plants that grow under corresponding conditions, comprising: (i) transforming a plant, part of plant or plant cell by introducing a genetic construction that comprises a nucleic acid encoding an EFTu polypeptide comprising: (i) the following GTP binding domains: GXXXXGK and DXXG and NKXD and S / L / K / QA / G UV / F, wherein X is any amino acid; and (ii) EFTu ALMANPAIKR domain or a domain that has at least 75% identity with this and / or K D / G EE S / A; (ii) express said nucleic acid; and (iii) objectify the polypeptide in a plastid in the plant cell, unless the nucleic acid or its variant is a plastidic gene.
