abstract An apparatus for degassing powdered polymers comprising- a chamber (1) having a first end (20) and a second end (21) opposed to each other, said chamber being equipped with at least one dust inlet hole and at least one degas outlet at the first end (20) and with at least one dust outlet and at least one degas inlet at the second end (21), - a valve (8) provided with a dust inlet and a dust outlet and disposed in the dust outlet (6) of said chamber (1), wherein said chamber (1) is equipped with a gas line (16) connecting a gas outlet of the valve (8) with the interior of the chamber (1), characterized in that the gas line (16) is connected to the interior of the chamber (1) in a position that is at a distance (h2) from the first end, said distance ( h2) 20-70% of the height (H) of the chamber (1) and at a distance (l1) of a wall (22) of said chamber (1), said distance (l1) being 20-50% of the largest diameter (L) of the chamber (1).
