abstract | A method to aid in the diagnosis of a subject suspected of lung cancer, the method comprising the stages of: a. quantify in a test sample obtained from a subject, the amount of two or more biomarkers in a panel, wherein the quantified biomarkers are at least the anti-p53 antibody and the anti-TMP21 antibody; b. compare the amount of each biomarker in the panel with a predetermined cut-off point of said biomarker and assign a score for each biomarker based on said comparison; C. combine the assigned score for each biomarker determined in stage b to arrive at a total score of said subject; d. compare the total score determined in stage c with a predetermined total score; and e. determine whether said subject has a risk of lung cancer based on the total score; where a Distance from the Ideal ("DFI") of the biomarkers with respect to lung cancer is less than 0.4, and where the DFI is [(1-sensitivity) 2 + (1-specificity) 2] 1 / 2. |
