abstract | Cooling procedure of a metal band that circulates inside a cooling section of a continuous heat treatment line, which consists of projecting inside the cooling section (4), on the surface of the band (1 ) to be cooled, a cooling medium capable of cooling the band (1) without oxidizing said band, characterized in that the cooling medium is mainly composed of a phase change body whose passage to the gas phase is carried out at a temperature that it is at the same time lower than the temperature of the band to be cooled (1) and close to the temperature of the external environment, so that the exchange of energy takes place within the scope of an endothermic process with a phase change of said phase change body and then said cooling medium can be re-condensed at a pressure close to atmospheric pressure, the phase change body comprising po r at least one hydrocarbon between pentane, hexane or heptane. |
