titleOfInvention Risk stratification of patients suspected of AMI
abstract A method of risk stratifying a subject presenting with chest pain suspected to be ischemic in nature, wherein said subject has a negative ECG, said method comprising determining levels of a cardiac troponin and H- FABP in an in vitro sample taken from the subject at presentation where the reference value for a cardiac troponin to rule out acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the 99th percentile of a reference population, and where the reference value for H-FABP to rule out an AMI is the 95th percentile of a reference population, and based on these results, calculating the subject's probability of having suffered an AMI and the risk stratification of said patient accordingly.
