A nail polish formulation comprising: - a curable aqueous polyurethane dispersion; - a photoinitiator; - optionally a leveling agent and - optionally a thickener wherein the formulation is free of non-reactive solvents and wherein said curable aqueous polyurethane dispersion is formed by reacting a) at least one polyol component comprising a1) a non-reactive polyol ionic, a2) at least one polyol containing at least one ionic or potentially ionic group comprising an acid group or salt thereof and a3) at least one monoalcohol or ethylenically unsaturated polyol, with b) at least one polyisocyanate, wherein the number of isocyanate groups (NCO) of the at least one polyisocyanate b) is in excess with respect to the number of hydroxyl groups (OH) of the at least one polyol component a), wherein said at least one polyol component a1) comprises atoms of carbon from renewable resources, said polyol acid group a2) being at least partially neutralized and said reaction being followed in a second stage by means of an extension reaction with an extender chain reactive with isocyanate c) and wherein said at least one monoalcohol or polyol a3) ethylenically unsaturated comprises at least one monoalcohol a3.1) and / or polyol a3.2) ethylenically unsaturated, with said monoalcohol a3.1) or polyol a3.2) containing from 2 to 5 ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule, said ethylenically unsaturated groups being (meth) acrylate groups. |
