titleOfInvention System to decontaminate water and generate water vapor
abstract A process for decontaminating water and generating steam, comprising the steps of: orienting an elongated reservoir (12) having an internal chamber (14) generally horizontally; introducing a water containing contaminants into the internal chamber (14) of the reservoir (12); moving the water through a series of rotating trays (22) alternately separated by stationary baffles (24) arranged within the internal chamber; passing water and steam through a plurality of spoons (26) through each of the trays (22), wherein the spoons (26) are configured to have an inlet (52) of a first diameter and an outlet (54) of a second smaller diameter, in order to rotate and heat the water to effect vaporization thereof to produce a vapor having at least some of the contaminants separated from it; passing water through a plurality of openings (28) through each of the baffles (24), wherein the openings (28) are configured to have an inlet (62) of a first diameter and a outlet (64) of a second smaller diameter; rotating the series of trays (22) at a rate whereby a steam temperature rises to a pasteurization temperature; withdrawing the steam from the tank (12) to condense apart from the separated contaminants and the remaining water; detect the conditions of at least one of: 1) entry of water into the tank (12), 2) the speed of rotation of the trays (22), 3) pressure inside the tank (12), 4) water temperature or steam, or 5) level of contaminants separated; and adjusting the speed of rotation of the trays (22) or the entry of water into the reservoir (12) in response to the sensed conditions.
