titleOfInvention | Dynamo for bicycles |
abstract | Hub dynamo (1) that can be connected to a wheel (3) of a bicycle, comprising: - an electrical machine (2) capable of functioning alternately as a generator and as a motor; - one or more batteries (4) connected to said electric machine (2) to be able to exchange energy with the latter; - a closure body rotatably connected integrally to said bicycle wheel (3), adapted to receive inside the means necessary to operate the dynamo itself and that houses the electrical machine (2) and said one or more batteries (4 ); said closing body that is devoid of connectors to connect the batteries (4) to external energy sources so that said batteries (4) are only rechargeable by the electrical machine (2) that works as a generator due to the rotation of the wheel bicycle (3); - a control unit (6) configured to control the electrical machine (2); - a sensor to detect the state of charge (SOC) of said one or more batteries (4), connected to the control unit (6) and suitable for generating a signal representative of said state of charge of the one or more batteries ( 4); in which the control unit (6) is configured to control the electrical machine (2): - according to a first mode (MOD1), in which the electrical machine (2) works as a generator and is capable of converting the mechanical energy of wheel rotation into electrical energy to be stored in one or more batteries (4), said first mode (MOD1) which is also configurable by the control unit (6) according to a first (LEV1) and a second level of recovered energy (LEV2), in which the power recovered according to the first level (LEV1) is less than the power recovered according to the second level (LEV2) under the same conditions of movement of the bicycle; - according to a second mode (MOD2) in which the electrical machine (2) works as a motor and is capable of delivering additional power to the bicycle wheel that draws energy from said one or more batteries (4); wherein the selection between the first (MOD1) and second (MOD2) modes, and/or between the first (LEV1) and the second energy recovery level (LEV2), can be performed at least partially automatically by the unit control unit (6), based on signals from suitable sensors and/or - one or more control members (7) are connected to the control unit (6) and can be controlled by a user to select between the first and second modes and/or between said first and second levels of the first operating mode, and in which said control unit (6) is configured to control said electrical machine (2) according to the first mode (MOD1) such that, in the same conditions of movement of the bicycle, the recovered power increases as the level of one or more batteries (4) decreases. |
