titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF ORGANIC DYES |
abstract | Triazine derivatives are obtained by reacting cyanuric chloride with a dyestuff intermediate containing an acylatable amino group and with an amine of the benzene or naphthalene series which contains a sulphato or sulphonic acid group in an alkylene chain bound either directly or through an O atom to the aromatic nucleus of the amine or the water-soluble salts thereof. Examples are given in which 3- or 4-aminobenzyl sulphonic acid, 3-amino-4-methyl- or -methoxy-benzyl sulphonic acid or 4-amino-#- sulphatoethoxybenzene and 3-amino-4-sulphoaniline are reacted with cyanuric chloride, and in which 3- or 4-aminobenzyl sulphonic acid, or 4-amino-phenylethane-#-sulphonic acid and 2- amino-5-hydroxy-naphthalene-7-sulphonic acid are reacted with cyanuric chloride. The compounds are useful as dyestuff intermediates (see Division C4). |
