titleOfInvention | CONTINUOUS TREATMENT PROCEDURE OF A BAND OF KNITTED TEJI-DO. |
abstract | Continuous length knitted or woven material is impregnated with water before or during stress relieving treatment in which the material is subjected to the action of steam or hot air simultaneously with the formation of the material into folds along a generally upwardly inclined path and subjection of the material to vibration. The stress relieving treatment equipment consists of an inclined vibrating conveyor belt having a feed cylinder 7 rotating at the same speed as the end rollers 5, 6 of the conveyor together with an endless retainer belt 8 which is more steeply inclined than belt 4. Both belts are enclosed in a chamber through which steam or hot air is passed. The impregnation of the material with water may be effected by atomisers 3, or by rollers which themselves are immersed in a bath, or by passing the material itself through a bath with subsequent centrifuging and partial drying. An anionic or cationic wetting agent is preferably added to the water. |
