Procedure for treating fly ash in a soda boiler |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for treating fly ash containing sodium sulfate in the pulp mill's soda boiler. The process has at least the following steps: a) ash is dissolved in aqueous solution and the pH of the solution is adjusted with alkali to precipitate impurities; b) the solution is filtered to remove the precipitate containing impurities; c) sodium sulfate is crystallized from the solution and or centrifugation, and d) the crystallized sodium sulfate is used as the starting material to produce sodium and sulfur-containing chemicals or as a process chemical. |
