titleOfInvention | MEASURES ADAPTED TO THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS AGAINST ECTOPARASITES |
abstract | Insecticidal collars for domestic animals include an active component consisting of (a) O, O-diethyl-O-(2-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-pyrimidinyl)-thiophosphate ('diazinone') (I) and/or O, O-diethyl-O-(2-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-pyrimidinyl)phosphate ('dioxone') (II); (b) a solid macro-molecular vinyl or vinylidene cpd; and (c) a plasticiser. The collars control ectoparasites (fleas and ticks) nor only by evapn. of (I) and/or (II) but also by direct contact with the parasites as the migrate between the head of the animal (esp. cat or dog) and the rest of its body; (I) and (II) are less toxic than DDVP and more stable in the presence of moisture. |
