titleOfInvention | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DEVELOPING FILM IN AMMONIA ATMOSPHERE |
abstract | The present invention relates to a film processor 22 having a developing chamber 6 which is maintained at a temperature above the dew point of ammonia within the chamber. Drive rollers 12 disposed near the chamber. The air inlet of the chamber are maintained at a temperature above the dew point and advance the film to be developed in the chamber. Exit rollers 14 on the exit side of the chamber extract the film from the chamber after it has developed. The portion 46 of the exit rollers disposed outside the chamber is subjected to a stream of relatively low temperature air 44 to cool the rolls to a level below the dew point of ammonia vapors. so that these vapors can condense on the surfaces 50 of the rotating rollers arranged inside the chamber. The condensate is then transported by the rotating rollers to the outside of the chamber and the stream of cooled air removes the condensate by evaporation. |
