titleOfInvention | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING POTENTIAL LEAKAGE FROM A FLUID CONTAINING SYSTEM |
abstract | An electrically conductive metal is placed inside a passage for sodium leakage, and the change in temperature of this electrically conductive metal, attributed to the heat of vaporization which the sodium mist deprives of this metal upon contact with the latter and the resulting vaporization is detected. The change in temperature of the electrically conductive metal is detected as a change in current or voltage, and the current corresponding to the change in temperature is fed back to the electrically conductive metal. The change in the conductive property is detected as a pulse signal, and a value proportional to the weight of a sodium mist particle is detected from the magnitude of the signal. In addition, a value proportional to the total weight of the fog is detected by the analysis of the pulse height. Sodium leakage is observed by comparing the value of the total weight of the mist with a predetermined value. This sodium leakage can also be observed by comparing the number of pulse signals with another predetermined value. |
