The present invention relates to a process for preparing acrolein or methacrolein with a high yield by catalytic oxidation of propylene or isobutylene in the presence of a catalyst having the following empirical formula: Mo10 Co0 equiv 10 Ni0 equiv 10 Fe0, 1 equiv 5 Bi0.001 equiv 3 Al0.05 equiv 10 Ti1 equiv 15 A 0 equiv 4 O33.2 equiv 99 in which A represents at least one alkali metal atom and the sum of the number of cobalt and nickel atoms is 1 to 10 per 10 molybdenum atoms, this catalyst having excellent resistance to crushing and exhibiting high catalytic activity. |
