AN ADVANCED TISSUE SOFTENING COMPOSITION IS OBTAINED BY THE SYNERGIC COMBINATION OF A CATIONIC SOFTENER AND A SUPERIOR ALKYL-SULPHONATE. THE PREFERRED CATIONIC COMPOUNDS ARE A QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALTS WITH TWO LONG CHAIN ALKYL GROUPS AND TWO SHORT CHAIN ALKYL GROUPS AND B IMIDAZOLINIUM SALTS WITH A LONG CHAIN GROUP IN POSITION 2. THE ALKYL- (IT IS PREFERRED SULFONATES ARE THE PARAFFIN-SULPHONATES IN CA C. THE PREFERRED CATIONIC COMPOUND TO PARAFFIN-SULPHONATE RATIO IS BETWEEN 5: 1 AND 12: 1 ON A WEIGHT BASE. THE PREFERRED FORM OF THE COMPOSITION IS AN AQUEOUS DISPERSION CONTAINING 2 TO 5 BY WEIGHT OF CATIONIC COMPOUND AND 0.2 TO 1 OF PARAFFIN SULPHONATE. THE INVENTION ALSO RELATES TO THE TREATMENT OF THE LAUNDRY DURING THE RINSING CYCLE OF THE LAUNDRY OPERATION WITH THE SAID COMPOSITION. |
