The cermet according to the invention consists essentially of: 1) a hard phase of a simple transition metal boride, a mixture of simple transition metal borides or a mixed transition metal boride; 2) of a binder phase consisting of a pure metal chosen from Fe, Ni, Co, Cr and Cu, or of an alloy of such a metal, characterized in that it further comprises 3) the metal of transition present or predominantly in phase 1, a metal from group IIA or IIIB or aluminum, or a mixture of at least two of these metals. Application to the manufacture of cutting or drilling tools and wear parts. |
