Process for preparing laser faces based on III-IV compounds, in particular GaAs / GaAlAs pump laser, characterized in that it comprises the following operations: 1. The faces of the laser are opened. 2. Said faces of the laser, placed in an enclosure where a pressure of the order of 10 ** - 7 to 10 ** - 8 mbar prevails, is subjected to a pickling operation by irradiation by a pulsed laser. 3. The said faces remaining are subjected with the same pressure, using the same pulsed laser, to a passivation operation by depositing silicon Si or gallium nitride GaN by the so-called laser ablation method, until obtaining between 5 and 10 angstroms thick. |
