titleOfInvention METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LAMINATED WIRE OF SMALL DIAMETER AND IN PARTICULAR AN ELECTRODE WIRE FOR ELECTROEROSION MACHINING AND ELECTRODE WIRE OBTAINED
abstract A coating is produced on the external surface of a long product with circular section (10) at least partially made of steel, the diameter of which is greater than the diameter of the core of the laminated wire to be obtained, by plating on the external surface of the product. long (10) heated, of two metal strips (12a, 12b) each comprising a strip of an alloy of homogeneous composition containing copper, nickel and zinc; the metal strips (12a, 12b) are heated and applied with pressure against the external surface of the long product (10). The coated long product (15) is then drawn by plating, until the laminated wire of small diameter is obtained. The method makes it possible to produce electrode wires for EDM machining with a diameter of between 0.05 and 0.50 mm having an outer insulating layer.
