Disclosed is a particle filter for collecting exhaust gas particles from an internal combustion engine, having an evolutionary channel geometry along the channel, such that: - the perimeter of the channel section decreases continuously from an open end (310) of the channel (370) to a reference cross section (350) of the channel, and then continuously increases from the reference cross section to a closed end (360) of the channel, and - the surface of the channel section monotonically decreases from the open end of the channel to the closed end. The closed ends are located in the filter body near the output and input faces respectively for the input and output channels of the filter. The invention also relates to methods of manufacturing such a filter. |
