- Chord and node for assemblies of multi-nodal structures.n - A node (40) and a chord (20) connect to form a multi-nodal structure (10), the chord (20) having flexural chord stiffness (ESIS). The node (40) has a main body and an arm connecting to the main body and extending along the chord axis toward the chord (20). The arm has a node end connecting to the main body, a chord end connecting to the chord (20), and a midsection therebetween. The midsection includes a neck portion having a neck flexural stiffness (ENIN) less than 20% of the chord flexural stiffness (ESIS). The chord (20) includes a primary section and a secondary section axially slidably connecting to partially overlap.n Figure 1. |
