abstract Novel compounds of formula <FORM:1061571/C2/1> in which Ar represents a phenyl, (lower alkyl)-phenyl, (lower alkoxy)-phenyl, halogenophenyl or trifluoromethylphenyl group, Ph represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, m represents 3 or 4, and R1 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group, and acid addition salts thereof, are prepared by reacting an N-mono-substituted piperazine with a phenoxyalkyl halide, and converting a resulting acid addition salt into a free base, or into another acid addition salt, or converting a resulting free base into an acid addition salt. Therapeutic compositions having anti-inflammatory, anti-hypertensive, tranquillizing, sedative, adrenolytic, anti-histaminic, and anti-fibrillatory properties which may be administered enterally or parenterally contain as active ingredient the compounds of the general formula above, or physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 984,017.
