titleOfInvention Modifications in the production of crystalline ammonium phosphates
abstract The process of Specification 1,020,182 for the production of crystalline ammonium phosphates is modified in that it is not necessary to remove the tarry matter from the input of ammonia which reacts with the wet process phosphoric acid. The apparatus is kept at a suitable temperature to ensure that the tarry matter is maintained in a fluid form. When the process employs gaseous NH3 the tarry matter is removed prior to the cooling of the reaction products. Phosphoric acid of up to 60% by wt. gives good results.
