titleOfInvention | Recovery of solid material from solids-containing liquor |
abstract | 1,130,525. Pulp liquor treatment. SONOCO PRODUCTS CO. 8 March, 1966, No. 9999/66. Heading C1A. [Also in Division D2] A continuous process for recovering a solid material from solids-containing pulp liquor comprises the steps of mixing particles of the required solid material at 399-677‹ C. with the liquor to produce evaporation of volatile components in order to deposit solids from the liquor on to the particles, burning the combustible components of the mixture to obtain a residue of the solid material and recycling a portion of this to provide the solid material to be mixed with further liquor. Na 2 CO 3 may be removed from sodium-based black sulphite liquor and Na 2 SO 4 from the raffinate of acid extracted waste sulphite liquor. The solid material and sulphur may be recovered from the combustion gases formed during the burning step. The waste liquor may contain 50-65% solids by weight. |
