1,151,664. Two-part couplings. BURNDY CORP. 6 Dec., 1967 [8 Dec., 1966], No. 55454/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Divisions C7 and D1] Pin-and-socket contact elements 22a and 20 have a porous electroplated coating of gold or rhodium impregnated with an N-alkyl or N- alkoyl aminocarboxylic acid or salt to resist corrosion. The impregnant may be N-lauroyl, N-oleoyl, or N-stearoyl sarcosine, N-lauryl iminoacetic acid, or N-lauryl beta-iminopropionic acid. The salt may be of sodium, potassium, lithium, or tolyl triethanolamine. The impregnant may be employed as a 0À1-10% solution. The solvent may be water or trichloroethane. The element substrate may be of copper, nickel, or nickel on copper. Contact 20, which comprises a socket 21, 22 at either end, is retained in a bore 11 in an insulating block 10 by means of a resilient retainer member 13 which is snap-fitted in the bore before the contact is inserted therein. |
