abstract | 1,168,298. Anodes for mercury cathode electrolytic cells. FRIEDRICH UHDE G . m. b. H. April 6, 1967 [April 6, 1966], No. 15808/67. Addition to 1,166,067. Heading C7B. In a mercury cathode electrolytic cell as described in the parent Specification which includes a flat horizontal plate anode 1, a metal cover plate 6 is secured to the upper surface of the anode by means of an insert 3 which is screwed into a bore in the upper face of the anode, either a bolt 7 passing through a bore in the metal cover plate and co-operating with an internally threaded bore in the insert or a threaded stem of the insert extending through a bore in the metal cover and receiving a fixing nut (13, Fig.2, not shown). The insert may be of chlorine resistant material, or may be impregnated with or coated with chlorine resistant material, e.g. by vapour deposition, electro-plating, melting on or spraying on, for instance it may be coated with lead, and a layer of lead may be positioned between the anode and cover plate. |
