| abstract | 1,196,552. Mixed azo dye chromium complexes. UGINE KUHLMANN. 12 Feb., 1968 [10 Feb., 1967], No. 6754/68. Heading C4P. The invention comprises mixed azo dye chromium complexes of general Formula (I)- Cr-(II), wherein (I) is a dyestuff wherein R is an arylene nucleus having -OH ortho to -N=N-, and (II) is a dyestuff wherein R<SP>1</SP> is benzene nucleus. R<SP>1</SP> may be substituted, e.g. by halogen, alkyl or nitro. Preferred dyes of (I) are [4-chloro-1-hydroxybenzene] - <2 azo 4>[3<SP>1</SP> or 4<SP>1</SP>-sulpho-1-phenyl- 3 - methyl - 5 - hydroxypyrazole] and of (II) 3,5 - dichloro - 2 - hydroxy - benzene<1 azo 4>[1 - phenyl - 3 - methyl - 5 - pyrazolone]. They are prepared by (a) reacting in aqueous alkaline medium a chromium complex of an aliphatic or aromatic o-hydroxy carboxylic acid with an approximately equimolecular mixture of (I) and (II) or (b) reacting in aqueous alkaline medium a 1 : 1 dye : Cr complex of a dye (I) with a dye (II). The dye complexes dye wool, silk, leather, polyamides and polyurethanes in red shades. |
