abstract | 1,239,118. Laminates. DOW CORNING CORP. 19 Dec., 1969 [21 Jan., 1969], No. 61899/69. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] Glass cloth laminates are prepared using as coupling agent an aqueous solution prepared by mixing a silane of formula or with at least one mole of formaldehyde or acetaldehyde per mole of silane. R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1-3 hydrocarbon radical; R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1-6 alkylene radical; R<SP>11</SP> is H or a C 1-3 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical; X is a hydrocarbonoxy group attached to the Si by an SiOC bond and which is derived from a water-soluble alcohol; n is 1, 2 or 3. Examples of suitable silanes are and An example relates to a 14-ply laminate presscured by conventional means, using an epoxy resin as impregnant. |
