abstract 1325830 Substituted 3-aniline-pyrazolones-(5) AGFA-GEVAERT AG 23 Aug 1971 [29 Aug 1970] 39385/71 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C4 and G2] The invention comprises diffusion fast purple couplers for photographic colour materials of general formula in which Q is an optionally substituted phenyl group, R 2 is an alkyl, aryl, o-alkyl, o-aryl, NH- alkyl or NH-aryl group in which the alkyl or aryl groups may be substituted, R 3 is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group and R 4 is a hydrogen atom, or a radical which may be split off on coupling, and in which n is 1 or 2. Q may be substituted by one or more alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, phenoxy, halogen, carboxyl, sulphonic acid, alkylsulphone, carbalkoxy, carbamido, sulphofluoride, cyano and/or nitro groups. R 2 may comprise one or more straight or branched chain or cyclic hydrocarbon radicals containing at least 8 carbon atoms. R 4 may be a chlorine atom, a sulphonic acid group or an optionally substituted phenyl azo group.
