abstract | 1365563 Rotary positive-displacement machines ATLAS COPCO A B 30 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 45648/71 Heading F1F In a compressor having co-operating rotors 7, 8 with teeth 49, 54, parallel shafts 9, 10 and synchronizing gears 12, cooling liquid such as oil or water is injected into clearance spaces at the ends of the rotor 8 through nozzles 51 disposed in each casing end-wall portion 2, 3 adjacent an outlet port 22. Liquid may also be injected through a nozzle 46 in an inlet-port portion 19, nozzles 48 in the end-wall portions and nozzles 57, 58 communicating with a liquid-cooling passage 23 in a casing central-portion 1. To allow trapped working-fluid and liquid to escape the ends of the tooth 54 may be bevelled or rounded at 55. Leakage liquid escapes from sealing rings 13 through passages 26, 27. Shaft bearings 11b are mounted in resilient portions 35 of the end-wall portion 3. |
