titleOfInvention Containers for electrically-conductive flowable material
abstract 1380593 Inductive liquid-level sensors INTERATOM INTERNATIONALE ATOMREAKTORBAUGmbH 30 Aug 1972 [3 Sept 1971] 40274/72 Heading G1N An inductive sensor for measuring liquid level (e.g. of molten sodium in a nuclear reactor) is releasably held in a pressure tight manner in a tubular sheath projecting into the fluid container. As shown a tubular sheath 4 with an end-plug 5 is welded into a mounting-flange 1 which is both welded and bolted to the container. The probehead 6 is screwed into the flange 1 against a sealing ring 7. Two mutual-inductance type sensors are mounted one below the other (for different levels) on support tubes 8, 12. The upper tube 8 is welded to the probe-head 6 and has a closure cap 9, to which metal sheathed sensor leads are hardsoldered where they pass through. The inductor formers 10 may be of austentitic steel for high temperature working. Terminal blocks 17 on the probe-head are covered by a hood 14 with a cable-gland 18. A modified head with two cable outlets is illustrated in Fig. 5 (not shown). The inductors are shown therein as fastened to the mounting tubes with tangential pins (11).
