titleOfInvention Catalyst particularly useful for dehydrogenating saturated hydrocarbons
abstract 1383069 Dehydrogenation catalysts INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE 13 Nov 1972 [19 Nov 1971] 52376/72 Heading B1E [Also in Division C5] Catalysts comprise (a) alumina, (b) Mo, W and/or Re, (c) Ga, In, Tl, Sn, Pb, Sb and/or Bi, and optionally (d) Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir and/or Pt. The catalysts have a surface area of 20-150 m<SP>2</SP>/g and a heat of neutralization with NH 3 lower than 10 calories/g at 320‹C and 300 mm Hg pressure. The preferred support is γ-alumina to which the active material is applied by impregnation, drying, calcination and reduction with H 2 .
