abstract | 1384681 Diglycolic acid HOECHST AG 23 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 24620/73 Heading C2C Diglycolic acid is prepared by reacting diglycol with dinitrogen tetroxide and/or nitrogen dioxide. An inert organic solvent, e.g. methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, monofluoro-trichloromethane or 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoro-ethane or mixtures thereof may be present. A preferred temperature range of 0‹ to 110‹ C. and molar ratio of diglycol to dinitrogen tetroxides of 1 : 2 to 1 : 8 is used. |
