abstract 1390015 4-Aminoquinazoline compounds KONINKLIJKE PHARMACEUTISCHE FABRIEKEN NV 5 May 1972 [7 May 1971] 47849/74 Divided out of 1390014 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula I wherein R 3 is a nitrogen-, oxygen-, or sulphurcontaining saturated or unsaturated mononuclear-heterocyclic group attached to the quinazoline nucleus through carbon, which may carry one or more halogens alkyls or alkoxys and/or when it contains an acylatable nitrogen, an N-acyl substituent, and the symbols R 4 to R 7 each are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, the total number of carbon atoms in alkyl or alkoxy groups, when present, being not more than eight, and in which all alkyl and alkoxy radicals contain up to eight carbon atoms, with the proviso that when all of R 4 to R 7 are hydrogen, R 3 may not be 2-furyl, and acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts thereof may be prepared by the process claimed in Specification 1,390,014. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds I or salts thereof when administered orally or parenterally with the usual excipients or mixed in the feedstock show activity against pleuropneumonia-like organisms and other gram negative bacteria and also exert antihypertensive activity.
