titleOfInvention | Fuel tank of thermoplastics |
abstract | 1415347 Blow-moulding; fuel tank BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 13 Nov 1972 [13 Nov 1971] 52287/72 Heading B5A A thermoplastic fuel tank comprises a body with a filling tube, a tubular ventilation conduit, a closure element and one or more securing elements, e.g. lugs for mounting of mounting elements, formed integrally with each other by blow-moulding. The filling and ventilation tubes may be screw-threaded. During blowmoulding, the angle α<SP>1</SP> between the appendage and the base of the body of the tank may be formed at 10-20 degrees, being subsequently deformed to an angle α of 20-70 degrees, bending being facilitated preferably by heating the zone below the appendage which is to be deformed, or by having heat-insulating elements in the mould. Alternatively, if the final angle is about 30 degrees or less, the appendage may be formed at this angle by blow-moulding. The material may be a homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and/or of propylene, a polyamide or a thermoplastic polyester. |
