1443986 Portable containers 7 Dec 1973 [3 Jan 1973] 56804/73 Heading B8D [Also in Divisions B3 and B5] A container holding liquid under pressure comprises a body portion 12 closed at one end by a metallic end closure 24, which has a peripheral channel defined by parallel leg portions 30 and 34 of straight cross-section bonded to the body by a heat-activated thermoplastics adhesive, comprising a polyterpene resin. The adhesive also comprises an ethylenevinyl-acetate terpolymer, a butadiene-styrene block copolymer, or a polyamide polymer, specific examples of mixes being given. The body may be formed from a helically-wound composite fibrous sheet or from metal or plastics. The body is provided with a vinyl coating 52 over a base epoxy coating or with a modified epoxy coating and the closure is provided with a modified epoxy coating 50. |
