titleOfInvention | Cooling system for the engine block of an internal combustion engine |
abstract | A cooling system for an internal combustion engine has a water cooling circuit 6 with water channels running through a cylinder head (2, fig 1) to an upmost part 31 of the engine block 1, and from there back to the cylinder head, and an oil cooling circuit channel running through a cylinder block 3 surrounding a cylinder with an outlet 13 connected to a piston cooling nozzle 14 for spraying cooling oil into the cylinder. There is an intake gallery 10 and a nozzle gallery 11, and a control valve (16, fig 4) upstream of a helically wound oil channel 9. The oil can also lubricate and cool a piston. |
