A transporting means for highly radioactive substances accommodated in a container 2, more especially HAW glass ingots, comprising shielding for gamma and neutron radiation 4, 5 and from heat from an external fire 2, 3, such shielding permitting the containers to be inserted directly into a borehole, the means comprising a) a cup-shaped partial structure of the shielding (4 - 8), disposed concentrically with the container (2); b) a cover member (9) c) a slide member (13) at the lower end; and d) a mushroom head (19) on the container (2) with an associated mushroom head gripping member (11) on the cover member (9). <IMAGE> |
