abstract A glazing assembly comprises a timber frame (1) having an inner peripheral surface (3) defining an opening and a glazing unit (4) positioned in the opening. The inner peripheral surface (3) is formed with a step (5) against which the glazing unit (4) is applied with the interposition of a first sealing strip (7) for sealing between the step and the glazing unit. Lateral restraining means (11) are provided for holding the glazing unit against the step with the interposition of a second sealing strip (12) for sealing between the lateral restraining means (11) and the glazing unit. Locating means (13) is fixed to the peripheral surface of the frame in a predetermined position relative to the step for engagement by the lateral restraining means (11). <IMAGE>
