An acoustic attenuating material comprises a pad (4) of foamed synthetic resin material bonded on one face to a fire-resistant facing sheet (1) via an acoustically dense thermoplastic barrier layer (3), said pad being coated on the opposite side with a backing layer of a flexible but sensibly non-extensible fabric material (5). The fire-resistant facing sheet may comprise aluminium foil reinforced with a glass textile strand scrim (2). The barrier layer (3) may comprise a polymeric monolayer loaded with a filler such as barium sulphate and having a surface density of between 3 and 15 kg/m<2>. <IMAGE> |
