abstract In a method of installing a domestic heating boiler on a wall, which boiler has a vertical back-plate (10) with a flue gas exit 13 therein, a generally horizontal hole (not shown) is formed through the wall, and then the boiler is mounted on the wall with the flue gas exit 13 in register with the hole in the wall. From the front of the boiler, a flanged flue pipe 37 is inserted through the back-plate flue gas exit 13 and into the hole so that the flange 38 engages the back-plate internally of the boiler, the joint between the flange 38 and the back-plate (10) then being sealed, with fire resistant cement and/or mechanical fasteners. The outer end of the flue pipe 37 is connected to a conventional flue. Hot gases produced by combustion of an upwardly directed oil mist flow upwardly in a labyrinthine path (Fig 1) heating water in a surrounding jacket, which includes a wedge-shaped section.
