abstract |
A vacuum cleaner having means for drawing air from at least one end of a rotary brush member 7 axially thereof into a suction member 10 as the brush 7 rotates. The means may be a ventilation fan at one 9a or both ends (9a 9b, fig 6) of the rotary brush 7 and the suction member 10 may be at the opposite end of the rotary brush 7 to the fan 9a or in the centre of the rotary brush 7 if two fans (9a 9b, fig 6) are provided. Ventilation openings 8c are provided opposite the ventilation fans 9a. The rotary brush 7 may be rotated by means of a pulley 9 and the fan 9a may be within the pulley 9. |
