A porous-plastics bearing has a bearing ring 23, 24 and a rolling element 25, said bearing having a ball holder 26 made from porous plastics And which is formed by gathering a cluster of plastics particles each having a volume in the range of from about 0.004 to 4mm<SP>3</SP>, the total volume of the cluster being in the range of from about 70 to 90% of the total volume of said ball holder 26, and then sintering the cluster of plastics particles, wherein pores formed within said ball holder 26 contain a lubricating agent, eg oil. The plastics may be ABS, POM, PP, PA, PBT, PPS, PEEK, PES, PAR, PAI or PTFE. Also disclosed is a porous-plastics sliding bearing made using such plastics, having a porosity in the range 10 to 30%. |
